This is a hands-on role offering variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work both on-site with customers and within our workshop.

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Inspecting, servicing, and repairing compressed air systems
  • Performing preventative maintenance to ensure peak system performance
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting pneumatic and compressor systems
  • Providing outstanding service and technical support to customers
  • Working both on customer sites and at our service facility

What We’re Looking For

You’re a practical problem-solver who takes pride in quality workmanship and customer service.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience with pneumatic and compressor systems
  • Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Engineering (preferred)
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong risk management awareness and a solid Health & Safety mindset
  • Good computer literacy
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and organised Branch Sales Support professional to support our Territory Manager and Technical Support Manager while playing a key role in day-to-day counter sales and stock management.

This position is critical to ensuring smooth branch operations, excellent customer service, and effective sales support—allowing our field sales team to focus on customer relationships and business growth.

You will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams in a hands-on role that blends inside sales support, counter sales, inventory control, and branch administration.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing daily sales and administrative support to the Territory Manager
  • Managing counter sales, including walk-in customers and phone enquiries
  • Preparing quotes, applications, proposals, and presentations
  • Following up on leads, referrals, and customer enquiries
  • Identifying sales opportunities from counter, phone, and inbound enquiries
  • Processing sales orders, invoices, and related documentation accurately
  • Maintaining accurate customer and sales records within company systems
  • Coordinating internal teams to support and close sales
  • Managing customer accounts, including quality checks and follow-up
  • Handling customer questions, concerns, and basic technical queries professionally
  • Maintaining up-to-date product knowledge and sales materials
  • Managing stock levels, including receipt, stock control, and stocktakes.
  • Supporting inventory initiatives such as stock reduction and promotions
  • Assisting with general branch operations and administration
  • Participating in sales meetings, reporting, and continuous improvement activities

Who We Are Looking For

You are a customer-focused, hands-on professional who enjoys working in a branch environment and supporting both customers and sales teams. You are organised, reliable, and comfortable balancing counter sales, administration, and stock responsibilities.

You take pride in delivering great service, managing stock accurately, and contributing to the overall success of the branch. You are keen to build product knowledge and develop your sales capability over time.

This role is a training pathway into a Territory Manager position.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have 3+ years’ experience in sales or a customer-facing role
  • Bring experience in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering environments
  • Are confident interacting with customers and building long-term relationships
  • Have strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
  • Are proactive, calm under pressure, and committed to high-quality work
  • Enjoy problem-solving and taking ownership of outcomes
  • Hold a full New Zealand driver licence with no endorsements

Experience in pneumatic or compressor industries, trade qualifications, or technical training are highly regarded but not essential.

As our Territory Sales / Service Technician for the Hawke’s Bay region, you’ll be the friendly face of CAC out on the road — building trusted customer relationships, offering expert advice, and providing top-quality service.

This role blends technical service work, sales, and customer support, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety,meaningful customer interaction, and doesn’t quite want to hang up the tools yet.

You’ll work closely with our Technical Manager, Service Team, and Sales Team, and you’ll play a key part in driving growth while ensuring our customers receive the best solutions and support.
